| Recent projects and commissions · 2004 Open Spaces Open Places, Northampton. Made site specific sculpture for the railway station using ideas of joining and stretching cloth within its own universe. 2003 Two printed hangings for Chelsea and Westminster Hospital - Daniel Turner Clinic for dermatology. I used historical evidence of the medical discovery of Goa Powder subject for the result. Commission's remit was to make the large clinical consulting and teaching room 'cosy' for the patients' reassurance. 2001 - 'Light Fantastic' - textile and video collaboration with Barry Hale at 'Roadmender', Northampton 2001 -- Vital Arts open exhibition - 'The Bigger Picture' at the Royal London Hospital. I submitted framed 2-dimensional pieces as new direction for selling. 2000 - 'Year of the Artist' award. 'Planes Frames and Automobiles', Roadmender, Northampton. Collaboration with filmmaker, Barry Hale. Textile suspended and rotating sculpture with projection & exhibition as the result of this residency exploring similarities and differences of the two mediums. 2000 - 'Commissioned Artist' Roadmender- Arts venue - Northampton. Translucent window treatment - Textiles stretched across 5 columnar spaces using theatre experience of scale space and colloboration. 1999 - Exhibition on theme 'encapsulation' at Bankfield Museum, Halifax. 1997 - Hangings for behind Philharmonia Orchestra, De Montfort Hall commissioned through City Gallery Leicester. Flat surface using colour and light. 1996 - "Making 4 Changes" - Southern Band Touring. 3-dimensional pieces in response to inner staircase at Marble Hill House 1996 - Gallery 3 open prize - Leicester City Gallery joint exhibition. Awards 2003 - East Midlands Arts, Training Support and Development award for assessing what is going on in Public Art and looking at new materials 2000 - Year of the Artist 2000 - Djanogly Art Gallery prize, Best overall collection at their 'Makers market' Nottingham 1998 - East Midlands Arts bursary. 1997 - Whitbread Business Arts Award. 1992 - East Midlands Arts - Visual Arts Project Award for Chelsea Crafts Fair. 1987 - 1998 Work directed towards public commissions with the question of scale an important issue. Researched into textiles and yarn technology leading to other ways of making.
